Kimberly is an accomplished leader of global teams with a proven ability to deliver results through others, drive global strategies and initiatives, and align diverse teams around common business goals and practices. She has an established track record of providing solutions to complex problems within required governance structures while preserving reputational interests and community engagement. She has demonstrated an ability to lead teams through significant internal restructuring and cost-saving initiatives.
Kimberly has served in various leadership roles in numerous organizations: four years on the Texas Board of Professional Geoscientists, having been appointed by former Texas Governor Rick Perry to this newly established state licensing agency. She was appointed by former Houston Mayor Bill White, to serve a three-year term on the Houston Police Officers’ Civil Service Commission. Other statewide civic leadership experience includes serving five years as a Director, now Alumni, of the Texas Lyceum Association.
She has served in leadership roles for legal and community-based organizations such as the National Bar Association, and both the Texas and Houston Bar Associations; as Secretary of her former Homeowners’ Association; as the President of the Board of Trustees for the St. Philip’s Neighborhood Development Corporation in Dallas, Texas; and a former Board Member of the St. Philip’s School and Community Center also in Dallas, Texas. She currently serves on the Texas Supreme Court Rules Advisory Committee and the Executive Committee of the Institute for Energy Law.
She is a seasoned legal professional with experience in both the private law firm and corporate legal environments. In her current General Counsel role, she leads a team of 125 lawyers and legal professionals, sitting in 14 countries, who are responsible for managing Shell’s disputes across the globe. She sits on the Global Legal Leadership Team and she also supports a Shell subsidiary business as a Board Director.
Prior to joining Shell, Kimberly was an associate and later partner in a private law firm’s Dallas and Houston offices where she handled various trial and appellate matters in numerous state and federal courts, garnering numerous published appellate decisions. She also served as the firm’s Hiring Partner for the Houston Office and on the Diversity Committee.
She is also Board Certified in Civil Appellate Law by the Texas Board of Legal Specialization. Kimberly has published numerous articles and served as a speaker on various legal topics. She was voted Best Associate General Counsel in a Large Company by the Houston Business Journal and nominated for the Best Corporate Counsel Award by the National Bar Association, Women Lawyer’s Division.
Kimberly is a 1993 graduate of Thurgood Marshall School of Law at Texas Southern University where she was the Class Valedictorian. She and her husband, Jason, enjoy golf, football and eating desserts.
