Sheila Bangalore


As a chief legal and strategy officer with a Wharton Finance MBA, Sheila Bangalore honed her legal/compliance, corporate strategy and governance experience over 20 years in senior roles across multinational, highly regulated, technology (B2B/C) and retail businesses, including Zappos, Bally Technologies, Aristocrat Gaming and MP Materials.  Sheila’s results-oriented focus, collaborative style and ability to develop and lead high-performing, diverse teams enable growth and transformation. Sheila brings her business acumen and innovative ideas to impact community boards, serving on leadership teams and on committees ranging from nominations to strategic planning.

Most recently, Sheila acted as Chief Strategy Officer, General Counsel and Corporate Secretary for MP Materials, a company she helped take public. As a key member of MP’s C-Suite, Sheila supported the company’s merger into an NYSE-listed special purpose acquisition company, sponsored by Fortress Investment Group. MP’s IPO raised $545mm in capital, with a $200mm private investment in public equity. While at MP, Sheila promoted the company’s ESG and optimization strategies, driving MP’s progress through its $600mm green convertible notes offering and its $170mm facility build-out. As MP’s Corporate Secretary, she oversaw governance efforts, supported her CEO in the recruitment and retention of MP’s initial board of directors, and prepared board agendas and companion materials, including SEC and other filings.  In this capacity, Sheila also acted as liaison for, and frequently presented to, MP’s board.

Sheila is regularly recognized by her peers for her community efforts. For her development of a unique, global mentorship and leadership program while at Aristocrat, Sheila was awarded a Top Ten 30-Somethings Award in 2018 by the Association of Corporate Counsel, a global 45,000+ member organization comprised of in-house attorneys. ACC also invited Sheila to participate in its inaugural Leadership Excellence Council. For her efforts organizing a first-of-its-kind Power of Technology conference geared towards the professional development of women in gaming, Sheila received a Pay It Forward award from Global Gaming Women, and Global Gaming Business magazine recognized her as an Emerging Leader of Gaming – 40 Under 40.

Sheila received her Bachelor of Arts in English Literature from Tufts University; a JD from the Washington University School of Law in St. Louis; and an MBA with a concentration in Finance from the Wharton School at the University of Pennsylvania.
