Arbitration Committee Meeting
Please join us for the next meeting of the Arbitration Committee for the program, The Current State of Arbitration in India – Recent Developments
In December 2019, the CPR Arbitration Committee published a Supplement to the Corporate Counsel Manual focusing on the ADR regime in India. The Supplement’s purpose was to provide corporate counsel involved in India-related transactions and disputes with a primer on the country’s ADR laws and practices. The ADR climate in India continues to evolve rapidly. Specialists on the subject, including some of the authors who contributed chapters to the Supplement, will speak on cutting-edge and topical issues, including litigation funding of India-related disputes, recent and proposed amendments to the Indian Arbitration Act, and the Indian Supreme Court’s decisions regarding whether Indian parties may choose a foreign seat of arbitration and the enforcement of emergency arbitrator orders.
Viren Mascarenhas, Partner at King & Spalding, co-editor of the Supplement, and Vice-Chair of the CPR Arbitration Committee, will moderate the discussion with the following speakers:
CPR is an independent nonprofit organization that promotes the prevention and resolution of conflicts to better enable purpose.
