2017 CPR INTERNATIONAL MEDIATION COMPETITION

AT THE CHAMBER OF CONCILIATION, MEDIATION AND ARBITRATION CIESP/FIESP

The inaugural edition of CPR’s International Mediation Competition took place for 2 days on May 16 - 17, 2017 in São Paulo, Brazil.  This first edition was hosted by the Chamber of Conciliation, Mediation and Arbitration CIESP/FIESP and was generously sponsored by Winston & Strawn LLP.  The Award Ceremony took place at the law firm of L.O. Baptista Advogados in São Paulo. The first edition of the competition was open to 12 teams from around the world.

The 12 teams selected to participate in the 2017 competition were the following:

  • Pontifícia Universidade Católica de São Paulo - São Paulo, SP, Brazil
  • Universidade de São Paulo - São Paulo, SP, Brazil
  • Jagiellonian University - Kraków, Małopolska, Poland

  • 3rd Prize Negotiation - Pontifícia Universidade Católica do Paraná (PUCPR), Brazil
  • Award for Best Team Work - School of Law, Christ University, India
  • Award for Best Written Statement - Universidade de São Paulo (USP), Brazil
  • Award for Best Client - Gabriel de São Severino Pereira, Universidade de São Paulo (USP), Brazil
  • Award for Best Counsel - Camila Vallim Almirall, Universidade Presbiteriana Mackenzie, Brazil

The competition and the pre-competition conference were not open to the public due to space limitations. However, a limited number of observers and participants to the conference were allowed to attend.
