CPR Institute Welcomes Prestigious New Board Members

The International Institute for Conflict Prevention & Resolution (CPR Institute) announces two new additions to its elite Board of Directors. These highly-successful and notable members of the corporate, legal, and academic communities will play an integral role in guiding the CPR Institute in its mission to spearhead innovation and promote excellence as the primary multinational resource for avoidance, management and resolution of commercial disputes.
CPR Institute’s newest Board members are:
• Barbara Daniele, Senior Vice President & General Counsel of GE Capital, Americas.
GE Capital, Americas provides financing for equipment, inventory and franchises; fleet services and M&A, buyout and restructuring capital to companies in over 40 industries, including healthcare. Prior to this role, Barbara was the General Counsel of GE Capital Solutions, an equipment leasing and lending business with operations in 30 countries and assets of approximately $130 billion, and the General Counsel of GE Commercial Equipment Financing. Barbara first came to GE in 1996 as the Head of Litigation for GE Capital, where she was consistently recognized for her outstanding contributions. Before joining GE, Barbara was SVP and Associate General Counsel and Head of Litigation of Chemical Bank. She also was an Adjunct Professor of Law at New York Law School. Barbara received her J.D. with honors from St. John’s University School of Law and was associated with Weil Gotshal & Manges and Seward & Kissel.
• Robert H. Mnookin - Samuel Williston Professor of Law at Harvard Law School, the Chair of the Steering Committee of the Program on Negotiation at Harvard Law School, and the Director of the Harvard Negotiation Research Project.
A leading scholar in the field of conflict resolution, Professor Mnookin has applied his interdisciplinary approach to negotiation and conflict resolution to a remarkable range of problems; both public and private. A renowned teacher and lecturer, Professor Mnookin has taught numerous workshops for corporations, governmental agencies and law firms throughout the world and trained many executives and professionals in negotiation and mediation skills. He has served as a consultant to governments, international agencies, major corporations and law firms. As a neutral arbitrator or mediator, he has resolved numerous complex commercial disputes. Also, Professor Mnookin has written or edited nine books and numerous scholarly articles. Before joining the Harvard faculty, Professor Mnookin was the Adelbert H. Sweet Professor of Law at Stanford Law School and the Director of the Stanford Center on Conflict and Negotiation.

The Chairman of CPR Institute’s Board of Directors is the Honorable Charles B. Renfrew, former U.S. District Court Judge, Deputy Attorney General and Corporate Legal Officer for the Chevron Corporation. The Vice Chairman is the Honorable William H. Webster former Director of the CIA and FBI, U.S. Court of Appeals and District Court Judge and partner with Milbank, Tweed, Hadley & McCloy LLP.
