March 31, 2010
Clip length/Date:(20:30min - 03/31/10)
Summary: Building a sustainable, peaceful future?
Discussing the kind of community consensus building needed for corporate social responsibility initiatives is a perfect podcast for a holiday week.
Caroline Rees joins International Dispute Negotiation host Mike McIlwrath to discuss years of efforts and learning on a very tough topic, making development work better with indigenous cultures. Rees is director of the Governance & Accountability Program at the Corporate Social Responsibility initiative, a wide-ranging best practices program at the Mossavar-Rahmani Center for Business and Government in Harvard’s Kennedy School of Government . The CSRI’s mission is to study and improve the public contributions of private enterprise; it explores “the intersection of corporate responsibility, corporate governance, public policy, and international development.”
Not surprisingly, mediation is found here.
