The New January Alternatives Is Online! (Jan. 4, 2011)

Just posted today by publisher John Wiley & Sons, Alternatives begins its 29th year of publication with cutting-edge mediation practice features.

Advance electronic access can be found at this link, after logging in, for CPR members. Hard copies are in the mail to subscribers and CPR members.  Subscriptions and individual issues, hard copy and electronic, are available at the Wiley Online Library, here.

The new January 2011 issue features the first of a two-part article by former New Jersey state appeals court judge William A. Dreier on avoiding mediation impasse.  His comprehensive list of tactics and techniques will help readers close deals and settle cases.

The issue also features commentary by Stradley Ronon senior associate Neal Troum, of Philiadelphia, on the U.S. Supreme Court's current class arbitration docket.  The think piece is accompanied by an ADR Briefs item on amicus views of the AT&T Mobility case awaiting the Court's decision.

Our monthly Worldly Perspectives column, by Giuseppe De Palo, of Rome, and Mary B. Trevor, of St. Paul, Minn., visits Slovakia, a nation focusing its resources on mediation.

The issue also contains news of progress on the EC Mediation Directive, profiling how Ireland's directive compliance likely will mean major changes, and more use, of ADR on the Home Front.
