CPR Institute and The Chartered Institute of Arbitrators Join Together

The International Institute for Conflict Prevention and Resolution  and The Chartered Institute of Arbitrators (CIArb), a world leader in providing training and qualifications in arbitration, mediation, and adjudication will co-present two 2-day courses on international arbitrator training: one for attorneys and one for business professionals.

The partnership of CPR and CIArb is important and unique in that:

• Arbitrators chosen for the most complicated and complex international arbitrations must have the type of training this course provides.
• Successful completion will put participants on the track to approval as an Associate and ultimately a Fellow of The Chartered Institute – a highly soughtafter
status.
• It is unprecedented that faculty include both CPR neutrals and trainers of the Chartered Institute.

Training Schedule

October 23-24, 2006: Business Professionals
October 25-26, 2006: Attorneys

Location: Association of the Bar of the City of New York

Other CPR International Arbitration Resources

Parties that choose arbitration over litigation of an international dispute do so primarily to avoid the unfamiliarity and uncertainty of litigation in a foreign court; also out of a need or desire for a proceeding that is confidential and relatively speedy. CPR Institute recently released The 2005 Updated Rules for  non-Administered Arbitration of International Disputes in order to provide procedures to facilitate the conduct of international arbitration fairly, expeditiously, and economically. In addition CPR maintains a Global Panel of Neutrals, located inside and outside the United States, with experience as neutrals in arbitration and mediation of transnational commercial disputes.
