John S. Kiernan Named Vice Chairman of CPR Institute’s Board of Directors
February 15, 2011New York, NY, February 14, 2011 – The International Institute for Conflict Prevention & Resolution (CPR Institute), a legal think-tank and alliance of global corporations, law firms, scholars, and public institutions dedicated to the principles of conflict prevention and alternative dispute resolution (ADR), announces the election of John S. Kiernan to Vice Chairman of its Board of Directors.

Kiernan is a partner at the New York office of Debevoise & Plimpton. He has been Co-Chair of the firm’s Litigation Department since 2002 and Chair of its Ethics Committee since 1994.
Kiernan’s representations reflect a practice of extraordinary depth and scope, embracing a broad range of commercial and quasi-commercial litigation, arbitration and internal investigations, including contract disputes, suits relating to purchases and sales of businesses, corporate governance disputes, derivative and class actions, international treaty claims, securities actions, patent and other intellectual property disputes, consumer fraud actions, libel and other First Amendment litigations, accountant liability suits and mass tort actions.
Kiernan succeeds the previous CPR Vice Chairman, the Honorable William H. Webster, who was elevated to Chairman of the Board.
