New York, NY— The International Institute for Conflict Prevention and Resolution (CPR), a global non-profit organization that manages conflict to enable purpose, announced the addition of Suzanne Rich Folsom to its Board of Directors and Adolfo Jiménez as the next Co-Chair of the CPR Council.

Folsom is Senior Vice President and General Counsel at Philip Morris International based out of Lausanne, Switzerland. She took the position in order to assist PMI in achieving its mission of a future without cigarettes, and is playing a key leadership role in driving the company’s smoke-free transformation. Prior to joining Philip Morris in July 2020, she was the General Counsel, Chief Compliance Officer, and SVP-Government Affairs at United States Steel Corporation. She has also previously served as the EVP, General Counsel & Chief Compliance Officer at ACADEMI, a private paramilitary security firm, and VP, Chief Regulatory & Compliance Officer, and Deputy General Counsel at American International Group (AIG), as well as the Counselor to the President and Director of the Department of Institutional Integrity at the World Bank, where she was responsible for the multilateral organization’s anti-corruption program in 189 countries. Folsom studied Political Science at Duke University and received her Juris Doctor (JD) from Georgetown University Law Center.

Jiménez, who will replace the current Co-Chair, C. Mark Baker of Norton Rose Fulbright, in the fall, leads Holland & Knight's South Florida Litigation Practice Group as well as their International Arbitration and Litigation Team. Jiménez has extensive experience representing clients in arbitrations in English and Spanish as well as serving as an arbitrator. Prior to joining Holland & Knight, Jiménez was a legal intern in the Office of the General Counsel of National Public Radio in Washington, D.C. He received his Bachelor of Science (BS) in Foreign Service from Georgetown University and his Juris Doctor (JD) from Boston College Law School.

“I am pleased to welcome Suzanne to our Board of Directors and Adolfo to our Council,” said CPR President & CEO Allen Waxman. “They each bring years of experience in the dispute management field to our table and will help strengthen our organization’s long-standing commitment to creating less conflict and more purpose. Suzanne has been a steward for many of the world’s most significant businesses and is helping PMI navigate a corporate transformation and new approach to dispute management. Adolfo is a seasoned advocate in international arbitration and long-time supporter of CPR. Each of them will no doubt enhance the contributions we make to the community.

I would also like to thank our outgoing Council Co-Chair, Mark Baker, for his advocacy and dedication to CPR and to ADR more broadly. We were fortunate to have had his leadership of the CPR Council and will look forward to our continued partnership with Mark and his firm, Norton Rose.”
