Established in 1977, the International Institute for Conflict Prevention & Resolution (CPR) is an independent nonprofit organization that promotes the prevention and resolution of business-related conflict to better enable the pursuit of purpose through the CPR Institute ( and its subsidiary, CPR Dispute Resolution Services ( 

Position Overview: 

This position will play a key role in growing and supporting the membership of the CPR Institute, a think tank which convenes companies, law firms, academics, individual practitioners, and neutrals to share best practices, network, develop tools for dispute management, and host programs of interest.

Primary responsibilities include membership recruitment and acquisition, securing renewals in a timely manner, managing the membership database, developing analytics to help maximize membership engagement and renewals, and interfacing with prospective and current members.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities: 

The successful candidate will lead all membership-related initiatives for the CPR Institute, working both independently and collaboratively as a senior staff member. The incumbent will have responsibility for growing the membership base, through both recruitment and retention in the following ways: 

· Develop and implement plans for membership growth and engagement by identifying both short-term and long-term strategies and initiatives for acquiring new members and engaging current members. 

· Facilitate ongoing member engagement with phone calls, emails, and meetings. 

· Enhance benefits consistent with CPR’s tiered membership model and diverse member constituencies. 

· Collaborate with the marketing team to create marketing assets and presentations to educate prospective and current members on CPR resources and membership value proposition.

·  Give presentations to prospective members and presentations as part of the onboarding process with new members to ensure that all members are familiar with membership benefits and resources available to them. 

· Track and analyze member engagement including event participation and marketing responses by fully utilizing the capabilities of CPR’s Association Management System and prepare reports of same. 

· Process membership renewals and payments and track financial performance. 

· Support the Board of Directors’ Membership and Programming Committee. 

· Support CPR Institute staff in their efforts to establish outside collaborations and to broaden the membership base. 

· Support CPR Institute’s social media in collaboration with other organizational marketing efforts.

Skills and Requirements: 

· Ability to work well independently and as a member of a team in a collaborative small office environment. 

· Ability to multi-task and prioritize, with good judgment and decision-making skills. 

· Ability to establish and maintain partnerships and relationships. 

· Excellent written and verbal communication for interfacing with prospective and current members. 

· Ability to speak effectively in public. 

· Have the following technical skills: 

  • Fluency in all Microsoft Office applications (Word, Outlook, Excel, and PowerPoint). 
  • Experience working with membership databases and use of analytics to track growth and retention. 
  • Comfort with learning the organization’s association management system

· Bachelor’s degree is preferred, as is a minimum of 5 years' experience in an association membership, law firm business development or ADR association customer facing role. Prior experience in a corporate or legal environment is a plus. 

Other Information: 

CPR’s work hours are 9:30 am – 5:30 pm Eastern, Monday through Friday. Evening and/or weekend work is rare but may occur during 2-3 peak time periods each year. 

This is a hybrid position, and incumbents will be expected to be present at our Midtown Manhattan office at least once per week. CPR will provide a laptop for business use.  

 CPR is located just off Park Avenue in lower Midtown Manhattan. It is within walking distance of Grand Central Terminal, Penn Station, and multiple subway lines. 

If hired, employee will be in an “at-will position” and CPR reserves the right to modify base salary (as well as any other discretionary payment or compensation program) at any time, including for reasons related to individual performance, CPR or individual department/team performance, and market factors. 


The pay range for this position at commencement of employment is expected to be between $90,000.00 and $100,000.00 per year; however, base pay offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors which may include but are not limited to job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. The total compensation package for this position may also include other elements, including discretionary bonuses in addition to a full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits (including 401(k) eligibility and various paid time off benefits, such as vacation, sick time, summer Fridays, and parental leave), dependent on the position offered.
