Professional Bio

Alice Adu Gyamfi focuses her practice on complex cross border disputes, including enforcement of arbitral awards and foreign judgments in US courts. She also facilitates asset recovery missions for sovereign and non-sovereign creditors. Alice is adept in matters involving foreign immunity of sovereigns, their agencies, instrumentalities, and government officials.

Alice is regularly engaged in international commercial and investment arbitration and investigations. She has represented sovereign states, individuals and multinational companies in arbitrations under leading institutional and ad hoc rules such as the ICC, ICSID, AAA/ICDR and UNCITRAL Rules. Her experience includes disputes in the renewable energy, oil & gas, mining, life sciences and construction sectors.

Ms. Gyamfi is also a dedicated pro bono advocate. For the past six years, she has been advising the South Sudan Ministry of Justice on establishing a Commission on Truth, Reconciliation, and Healing. In 2023 and 2024, she drafted the implementing legislation for the Commission and the Compensation and Reparations Authority Bill, both of which were passed by Parliament.
