Danielle Rawls is an attorney and the Director of Privacy & Data Governance Risk at Upstart, where she leads the company’s privacy and data governance risk program. Her work sits at the intersection of law, technology, financial services, and responsible innovation, with a focus on developing practical governance frameworks for privacy, cybersecurity, artificial intelligence, and data use.
Drawing on her 19+ years of legal experience in complext litigation and advising regulated businesses, Danielle brings a pragmatic, risk-based perspective to dispute prevention and resolution. She is particularly interested in how mediation and arbitration can provide efficient, fair, and business-centered alternatives to traditional litigation, especially in disputes involving emerging technology, data, and complex regulatory issues.
Outside of work, Danielle enjoys spending time with her family and friends, reading, learning the ropes as a beginner gardener, and watching romantic comedies.
