Lauren Friedman is a partner in the New York office of King & Spalding and co-leads the firm’s Energy Transition Disputes group. A member of the top-ranked International Disputes practice, she represents clients as lead counsel and as part of global case teams before courts and tribunals worldwide. Lauren is consistently recognized as a leading disputes partner by Chambers USA, Legal 500 Latin America, Benchmark Litigation, and Who's Who Legal, which named her one of the 10 “Most Highly Regarded” partners in the Americas under 45. Clients and peers praise her as a gifted advocate with exceptional legal insight, strategic thinking, and a thorough, professional approach.

Lauren’s experience spans sectors including electricity, oil & gas, LNG, private equity, pharmaceuticals, and infrastructure. She has developed deep expertise in environmental and energy-related disputes, particularly in connection with climate change and the energy transition. She advises clients on emerging legal risks, exit strategies, and stranded assets, and collaborates with the Sabin Center for Climate Change at Columbia Law School to address regulatory barriers to renewable energy development. Lauren handles matters in English and Spanish and serves as an arbitrator with ICDR and SIAC.
