Professional Bio
In her role, she oversees all of CPR’s international initiatives outside the U.S., including CPR's international advisory boards in Brazil, Canada, and Europe, as well as activities domestically and internationally in connection with the Y-ADR Steering Committee, an international leadership group of young professionals. She leads two of CPR's flaghip international programs - the International Mediation Competition and the Africa Arbitration Day-New York moot and conference - and developed CPR's full day webinar program - the Global Conference - bringing together four substantive panels from around the world to offer international perspectives on ADR themes annually.
Based in New York City, Knar is admitted to practice law in New York and New Jersey and has served as an independent Mediator, Arbitrator, and Neutral Facilitator, she is a New York State Certified Mediator and is trained in Community Dispute Resolution Center mediation and conflict coaching. Formerly practicing law as a commercial litigation attorney in New York City and then managing insurance litigation for a global carrier, she founded a private ADR practice to serve clients directly. Knar is a court-appointed Mediator and Arbitrator on several New York local and federal court rosters and specializes in cases involving commercial, contract, insurance, employment, and international disputes.
Knar is an active member of the New York State Bar Association, the New York City Bar Association (where she served as Secretary of the Alternative Dispute Resolution Committee and also sits on the International Law Committee and the International Commercial Disputes Committee), and the Armenian Bar Association. She speaks English, Armenian, and French.
