Arbitrator Elisabeth Eljuri To Deliver Keynote at CPR Annual Meeting

New York, NY – The International Institute for Conflict Prevention and Resolution (CPR), a global non-profit organization that helps others manage conflict so that they might better pursue their purpose, is pleased to announce that Elisabeth Eljuri, Independent Arbitrator and Chief Legal Counsel & Chief Negotiator, Westlawn Americas Offshore will be the keynote speaker at the 2024 CPR Annual Meeting to be held on March 6-8, 2024 in Philadelphia. 

The theme of the 2024 CPR Annual Meeting is “Freedom and Independence in ADR.” The two-and-a-half-day conference will feature experts in alternative dispute resolution (ADR) from a variety of industries and perspectives - corporate counsel, law firm practitioners, neutrals, academics and business leaders – that share an interest in preventing disputes or resolving them more efficiently to avoid or minimize the cost, distraction and ruined relationships disputes can cause. 

This year’s Annual Meeting Steering Committee Co-Chairs are Nancy Dowling, Vice President, General Counsel, Public and Scientific Affairs, Danone North America; and Bill Dodero, Senior Vice President and General Counsel, Bayer US. 

Elisabeth Eljuri is an Independent Arbitrator and oil executive, with extensive law firm experience prior to moving into private equity in 2016. Eljuri sits as arbitrator in major natural resources, infrastructure and M&A disputes with a focus on Latin America. She is registered on the panels of multiple arbitral institutions and is a Fellow of the Chartered Institute of Arbitrators (FCIArb). In parallel to her role as arbitrator, she is currently Chief Legal Counsel & Chief Negotiator at Westlawn Americas Offshore, a Houston-based upstream oil and gas company. Previously, Eljuri was the Head of Latin America for Norton Rose Fulbright where she was a senior partner for nearly two decades. She is also a published author in the areas of international arbitration, investment protection, political risk management, energy law, and others, as well as a frequent public speaker. 

The theme of her keynote address will be “Taking the Risk to be Independent.”
