CPR Selects AT&T and General Counsel David McAtee II for its 2017 Corporate Leadership Award

Corporate Leadership,

New York, NY – The International Institute for Conflict Prevention & Resolution (CPR) has announced that AT&T and David McAtee II, the company’s Senior Executive Vice President and General Counsel, are the recipients of its 2017 Corporate Leadership Award (CLA) for leadership in dispute resolution.  AT&T and Mr. McAtee will be honored at CPR’s Annual Corporate Leadership Award Dinner on Tuesday, Nov. 7, at the American Museum of Natural History in New York.

“As early supporters of CPR, AT&T and David McAtee have demonstrated a deep and abiding commitment to our mission to find new ways of resolving commercial disputes while preserving business relationships,” said Noah Hanft, President & CEO of CPR. “We are thrilled to honor them with CPR’s 2017 Corporate Leadership Award.”

“In AT&T, under David McAtee’s guidance, we see a legal department run with a keen business mindset, with skilled lawyers utilizing the same creative and strategic approaches that their business counterparts employ,” said Charles Morgan, CEO of the Morgan Group and Chair of the CLA Dinner Committee.  “It is a prototype of what CPR seeks to help corporations achieve.”

AT&T joined CPR in 1990 and signed the CPR Pledge the same year.  Today, these principles continue to guide the organization and have been incorporated into the culture of their law department.

The award presentation will take place at a black-tie dinner at New York’s American Museum of Natural History.  This annual dinner draws approximately 500 attendees representing businesses and their general counsel from Fortune 200 corporations, partners from leading law firms, and industry experts and scholars who come together to acknowledge the importance of alternative dispute resolution (ADR).
