New York, NY The International Institute for Conflict Prevention and Resolution (CPR), a global non-profit organization that helps others manage conflict so that they might better pursue their purpose, is pleased to announce that Judge Rosemary Barkett will be the keynote speaker at the 2025 CPR Annual Meeting to be held February 5-7 in Miami.

The theme of the 2025 CPR Annual Meeting is “Calming the Waves: Managing Conflict with ADR.” The two-and-a-half-day conference will feature experts in alternative dispute resolution (ADR) from a variety of industries and perspectives - corporate counsel, law firm practitioners, neutrals, academics and business leaders – that share an interest in preventing disputes or resolving them more efficiently to avoid or minimize the cost, distraction and ruined relationships disputes can cause.

Judge Barkett is a judge on the Iran-United States Claims Tribunal in The Hague. She also serves as a Judge ad hoc on the International Court of Justice. Prior to joining the Tribunal, she served for two decades as a judge on the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Eleventh Circuit. Prior to her nomination to the Court of Appeals, she was Chief Justice of the Florida Supreme Court, the first woman to hold that position.

“Judge Barkett’s life story, career and current work are fascinating, and we very much look forward to hearing her thoughts and learning from her experiences,” said CPR President and CEO Serena K. Lee. “The CPR Annual Meeting brings together thought-leaders from the full gamut of the dispute resolution field. Judge Barkett’s experiences will undoubtedly inspire the CPR community to think about and address disputes in new ways.”
